Tommy Murphy Cup

Well done and congratulations to all concerned with Tipperary Footballers on their Tommy Murphy Cup success at the weekend. Tipperary beat Wexford in Croke Park on Sunday last and Declan Browne became the second captain to accept the Tommy Murphy Cup. Congratulations especially to our own Niall Kelly (Kildangan) who has long served the County Football Team.

North Tipp were also represented on the panel by
Peter King (Ballina),Stephen Murphy (Kilruane Mac Donaghs)
and Liam England (Inane Rovers).

Watch Centre Junior "B" Hurling Championship:

Toomevara joined Burgess & Portroe in the semi-finals of the Watch Centre Junior "B" Hurling Championship with a comfortable win over Borrisokane in the Quarter Final on Saturday last in Cloughjordan. The 4th and final Quarter Final place will be filled this week end as Kildangan face Ballina. Good Luck to all involved.

Walsh's of Nenagh Under 21 "A" Hurling Championship:

The Kildangan / Roscrea Loser's Group semi-final of the Walsh's of Nenagh Under-21 "A" Hurling Championship was not played at the weekend. This game will now be played on Tuesday 13th September with the winner to meet Shannon Rovers Gaels.

County Championships:

This weekend 4 North Tipp teams go in search of places in the Quarter Finals of the Cidona County Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship Quarter Finals. On Saturday in Semple Stadium Moneygall take on a strong Drom / Inch who were beaten in the mid final replay. Moneygall were in very good form on Sunday week last in the second half in particular when seeing off Kilruane Mac Donaghs. Toomevara put their county crown on the line against Ballingarry as part of a double header in the Stadium. After beating Mullinahone on the last occasion, Toomevara will be expected to advance at the expense of the beaten South finalist. On Sunday evening in Nenagh Kildangan and Nenagh Éire Óg could provide the tie of the round. This will be Nenagh's first outing since their North Final defeat to Borris-Ileigh, while Kildangan are in great form at the moment having won 5 games in a row in the County Championship.
