Cumman Camogaiocht Na nGael Cill An Daingin 2006 Setting the Scene The re-established Kildangan Camogie Club first fielded an U/12 team in the championship in 2002. An U/14 team found their feet that year playing challenge games for experience. From 2003 the club affiliated teams in the U/12 and U/14 league and championship. In 2006 we affiliated 5 teams at u/10s, u/12s, u/14s, and Junior B level. We have amalgamated with Portroe to field an u/16 team, St Catherine's which are competing at A level. AGM 2006 The Kildangan camogie club held their AGM on Saturday 28th of January. This was well attended and encouraged some positive productive discussion. The committee were thanked for their continued hard work. Officers The Officers of the club are Roisin Hackett (Chairperson), Olivia Hogan (Secretary), Joan FitzGerald (Treasurer), and Sinead Hogan (Registrar). Juveniles Congratulations to Aisling Gleeson who was an instrumental member of the 2006 Kildangan GAA U/12's County B Champions. Training : The younger players in the club generally train at 11:00 on Saturday morning in the hurling field Puckane catering for age 6 to age 8, under 10's, 12's and 14's There is also training on Thurs evenings for under 10's, 12's and 14's Many thanks to the people who have nurtured the juvenile teams to this stage and more involvement from parents and guardians would be very beneficial. An u/14 blitz is being organised shortly in the club. An u/12 blitz is being organised shortly in the club. We are looking forward to seeing the girls on the field of play and the parents/supporters on the sidelines for these events. 	Girls of Summer Cill An Daingin Abu 2006 Coach & Selectors Michael (Scart) Ryan, Karl (Charlie) Hogan and Art Flannery are returned as manager and selectors of the Junior team. Training will commence the weekend of shortly. All new players are welcome. Additional mentors are being sought for the juvenile teams. Anyone interested in a foundation coaching course and please contact the secretary or any member of the committee. General Congratulations to two officers of the club Olivia Hogan and Joan FitzGerald who both had baby boys in recent times. They temporarily vacated their positions on the junior team and your team mates miss you on the field and can't wait to have you tog out again !!!!!!!!. New Players All new players are welcome irrespective of age or experience, just contact any member of the club. Please ensure that all monies for membership and insurance have been paid up. Junior Team : Karl (Charlie) Hogan, Art Flannery and Michael (Scart) Ryan are manager and selectors of the Junior team respectively. Thanks to the lads for putting in a lot of time and effort with the girls. They have guided the Junior team to the top of their group in the championship. They faced tough opposition along the way in Kilruane, Roscrea and Moneygall. The girls now face Newport in the quarter finals on the weekend of Sat 30th Sept. U/16 s St Catherines : The U/16 team Kildangan/Portroe amalgamation are out in the championship over the next couple of weeks. The girls have put in great efforts over the last couple of months and played many challenge games. We wish them the best of luck, it s the first time that they have competed at A level and we are very proud of them. Provisional Fixture Dates for u/16s are as follows Sun 24th Sept 12:00 in Puckane : St Catherines v Burgess. W/E 1st Oct in Puckane : St Catherines v Moneygall, Sun 6th Oct 12:00 in Puckane : St Catherines v Toomevara. Fundraiser A successful fundraising draw was held in McGraths Puckane in Oct 2005. Thanks to those who sponsored the prizes for this event and those who sold the tickets and those who bought the tickets (as the compare for the night so eloquently put it). It generated much needed funds for the club. Prizes were sponsored by Shannon Sailing, James Kennedy Puckane, Gillies Restaurant Dromineer, Puckane Crafts, O2 and Proctor and Gamble
