Roscrea won the toss and played with the town goal at their back. In the first attacks, Martin Loughnane turned the ball
in for a goal and from a free at the other end, 25 yards out, Matt Coen pointed. Kiladangan had a second point from a 21
yard free. There was some close marking from Killeen and Brussells and Griffen and Roland. A free to Roscrea, 40 yards out
was sent in by Loughnane and saved by Maloney. After Rabbitte had broken away, Mick Ryan drove to the square, where Fletcher
finished to the net. Kiladangan attacked following Flannery's clearance and Gleeson was fouled. Killeen took the free, 25
yards out and beat Cunningham to the net. The score now being 2-0 to 1-2. Danny Gleeson raced away at the head of the field
and Kiladangan closed in, but the ball struck the upright, coming into play again was cleared to safety by the Roscrea backs.
Martin Loughnane was unmarked to send over a point. Joe Fletcher and Roland made good clearances. Kiladangan moved in,
but Coen was wide with his drive. Maloney was good for Kiladangan and he made several clearances under pressure. A free
to Roscrea taken by Martin Loughnane struck the crossbar and was sent past the post. The next attack, Martin Loughnane stopped
James Hogan to cut in for Roscrea's third goal. Harrington just missed the posts for Kiladangan. Before the interval whistle,
Loughnane was in front of the Kiladangan posts and slipped the ball to the goal, Grace stopped it, but Fletcher slipped into
goal to leave half time score, Roscrea 4-1 Kiladangan 1-2. Early in the second half, Flannery was replaced by P Devaney
for Kiladangan. Grace moved up field and Devaney went into goals.
When play was resumed, Martin Loughnane pointed. The same player was wide with a free. Devaney saved well from a ball
by Fitzgerald. Brussells had Roscrea's next point following a long ball to the square by M Ryan. Roscrea followed with another
side and Coen pointed for Kiladangan from a free. Killeen missed a 21 yard free, which was saved and Roscrea defence cleared
two more frees by Killeen. Culhane of Kiladangan was replaced by T Keane and on the resumption of play, Harrington had a
point for Kiladangan. Kiladangan made several raids but were safely held by Fletcher and The Mahers. When the ball came
up to Ml Ryan, he sent onto Martin Loughnane, who put Brussells in position and he sent a ground ball past Devaney for Roscrea's
fifth goal. Two more points, one from a 25 yard free, were sent over by Martin Loughnane to close the scoring.
